Hachioji is now under Covid-19 Quasi-Emergency Measures

Hachioji have been under Covid-19 quasi-emergency measures since April 12 and the measures will last through May 11.
The coronavirus is still here in our community.
Each and every one of us must do our part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

About COVID-19 Vaccination

Pfizer Inc.'s corovavirus vaccine "COMIRNATY" has been authorized for emergency use by the Ministry of Health Labour and Welfare.
The city is working diligently to prepare for the distribution and administration of the vaccines for all the persons who wish to receive doses.
The latest information on the vaccination program is available on the page below.

The Coronavirus Vaccination Program

For persons aged 65 years or older

Hachioji city have sent vaccination tickets by mail for persons aged 65 years and older on March 29. 
Currently all of our vaccination appointment slots have been filled and we are not taking any new appointments  at this time.
Even if you were not able to schedule an appointment this time, everyone who wants avaccine will be able to get one.
More appointment opportunities will be announced when we have more vaccines available.
Please hold on to your vaccination ticket and other enclosed documents until then.

For those who have an appointment, we kindly ask you to fill out the Prevaccination Screening Questionnaire for COVID-19 vaccine (it is called "yoshinhyo" in Japanese) enclosed with the letter in advance.
The questionnaire form is available in 17 languages on the below page.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) has requested business owners to suspend their operation or shorten their business hours in order to combat COVID-19.

Those women who are pregnant and wish to receive the COVID-19 testing before childbirth may receive subsidy of up to 20,000 yen.

There has been new COVID-19 immigration rules for persons in the following situations.

  • Unable to leave Japan
  • Unable to take the evaluation examination for Technical Intern Training
  • Lost employment
  • Finishing Technical Intern Training (ii) but unable to prepare to change visa to Specified Skilled Worker (i)
  • Finishing Technical Intern Training (ii) and wishing to change visa to Technical Intern Training (iii)

Those who meet criteria can apply to renew their visa.
