Rebound Prevention Period Through May 22

Tokyo Metropolitan Government has extended the Rebound Prevention Period to stop the further spread of COVID-19.
Let's once again review the basic preventive measures, encourage others to do the same and get tested if you are worried.

  • Avoid crowds. Avoid going out with a large group of people. 
  • Dining out only in a small group of people for a short period of time. 
  • Practice social distancing and regular hand washing and wear a mask.

For those who are facing the Coronavirus falling incomes and job loss, there are some programs to cushion against the income loss.

Special Benefit for Low-income Inhabitant Tax Exempted Households

As a support for low-income households which are exempted from inhabitant (residential) tax, a special benefit of 100,000 yen per an eligible household is being provided in cash.
For those households, a confirmation letter will be sent by postal mail in mid-February.
Please note that the confirmation letter has to be returned to the city office in order to receive the benefit.
